Felix Nikolas Prehn
Economist and former investment banker
Felix Nikolas Prehn, also known as Nikolas Prehn, is an economist and former investment banker, born in Germany. He is a tech founder: he co-founded TradeVision.io, founded Winston Daily and The Prehn Institute, and publishes weekly on YouTube. He is also a painter and sculptor and a public advocate for animal rescue.
Felix Nikolas Prehn was born in Germany. He trained as an economist and worked as an investment banker. His reading of markets was shaped by mentors who spent careers inside the institutions: hedge fund managers, Wall Street professionals, and senior banking figures.
He has appeared alongside Jim Rogers, Tom Bilyeu, and other prominent figures in finance and business. Yahoo Finance and the Associated Press have covered his work.
UCL and BPP Law School
Felix holds a BSc in Economics from University College London (UCL).
He completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) in Law at BPP Law School.
He is a member of the American Economic Association and the Royal Economic Society.
What he has built
Felix founded The Prehn Institute, which researches the financial markets and teaches how they work.
He is also a tech founder. He co-founded TradeVision.io, a market analytics platform for screening and charting equities, and founded Winston Daily, a software company whose app generates a personalised daily briefing on each user's portfolio: earnings, insider and politician trades, fund fees.
He publishes weekly on YouTube.
Winston, and nine more
Felix shares his home with ten rescue animals, including Winston, his adopted golden retriever. He supports animal charities, fosters cats when he can, and encourages everyone to adopt rather than buy.
“People often don’t believe they all came from a shelter, or even the street.”
Made slowly, by hand
Felix Nikolas Prehn paints and sculpts. The paintings tend toward the expressive: colour and movement over precision. The sculptures are quieter. Both reflect the same instinct, a preference for things made slowly, by hand, with no particular audience in mind.
His maternal grandmother
Asked who his biggest inspiration is, Felix names his maternal grandmother. She grew up in Germany during the Second World War and went on to become the most powerful woman in the German garment industry, the only woman at the board table across her whole career. What she passed on was a set of standards: precision, independence, and the refusal to be diminished by a room that had not expected you.
